Meditation
In the most influential yogic philosophical text – the Yoga Sutras – it is written: citta vrtti nirodhah, which can be translated as stilling the fluctuations of the mind or calming mental activity.

In meditation, you learn to observe your thoughts rather than getting lost in them.
This practice cultivates mental clarity, inner calm, and a deeper sense of presence.
Breathwork
In breathwork practices – known in yogic vocabulary as Pranayama – the focus is on training the breath.
Not (only) on challenging lung capacity, regulating blood pressure and heart rate, or calming the nervous system, but above all on arriving in stillness.

On sensing the aliveness of your breath, feeling how you are alive without having to do anything for it.
On noticing how you are in this very moment and learning to be with it.
On sensing the felt timelessness that exists between the breaths.
